Green Fingers EP2 Blue

This week is pretty exciting because we are planting our seeds in Science.  To begin all students are growing their own Mung Beans.  We also have some cucumber seeds to grow and some students have bought some special seeds in as well.  It will be good to watch our plants grow and learn how to look after them properly.

Most students have been keeping up with the homework book.  It is most important to keep up to date because the homework reinforces the classwork.  It is also instilling a sense of discipline in regards regular study in the minds of your children.

In our first spelling test last Friday 40% of children got 100%, very, very good.  We have been going over some words that students learnt last year in preparation for a ‘Family Tree’ project.

All students should have a project book and a spelling test book by now.  We will be using both regularly.

Teacher Sue

Welcome to English Programme Grade 2 2012

I am really looking forward to meeting all my new students and their parents next week.

We are lucky to have Khru Aoy teaching EP2 again this year.

We will start off the year in Science by looking at what plants need to grow.  We will sow some seeds and observe what happens when we vary the conditions they are growing in.  English begins with the students looking at their Family Tree and all the people who make it up.  Teacher Kim will be teaching Math and she will start everybody off on their Times Tables – all the other Grade 2′s have loved the way they learn their tables.

In English this year we are really going to be concentrating on promoting confidence in listening and speaking, with activities and projects to promote fluency and communication skills.

The first Homework Book will come out next week.  It will contain your Student’s homework for 1 month with a schedule of when each page should be completed.  It is important Students bring their homework book to school everyday as I will be checking progress and ensuring that there are no aspects of the homework requiring coverage in class.

It is important that students are on time each morning so that the school routine is not interrupted.

We are in for a big and exciting year at Varee School.   Have a good look at the Handbook and if you have any questions just ask Khru Aoy or myself.

If you want to get in touch with me about anything at all, the address is ep2@varee.ac.th or just come in before or after school for a chat if you wish.  My mobile is 0872 889 118 – unfortunately my Thai is limited.

Thanks, Teacher Sue
